Our Top Dog-Friendly Spots Around The Country

You love your dog, and so does your city! This summer, make the most of the sunshine and warmer weather with your closest companion by your side. Whether it's a café, park or hotel as you travel, every major city offers some amazing opportunities for you to jog with your dog wherever you please.

Sometimes, we forget to pause for our paws and make the most of all the dog-friendly favorites around us.

Below is a succinct guide to some of our favorite puppy-friendly spots -- test them out and find a local go-to for the season!

Canine Court: It’s as dog-friendly as it sounds! Built in 1998, Canine Court was New York City’s first real dog park, with a dog run and an agility course, giving it the feel of a children’s playground. It’s a little bit hidden from the sight of the road, which means you’ll need to know where you’re going before you leash up, but this is also a huge plus as it offers a much-needed city escape for you both!

Montrose Dog Beach: Located in Chicago, this bustling beach offers a clean and safe ocean-front adventure for dogs of all sizes to enjoy. It is Chicago's first off-leash beach, welcoming paws from sunrise until about 9pm every day. (Note: while the beach is free, dogs are required to wear a DFA tag, priced at $5).

Doggie Bag Café & Pet Boutique: Miami's Doggie Bag Café will not disappoint -- started by a family who began cooking meals for their dogs after finding out they were allergic to certain foods, their menu now consists of clean meals for your pup that can be ordered in advance, including pooch-ified "Alaskan Salmon Sliders" with dog treats and doggie birthday cakes!

The Barking Dog: Located on the Upper East Side of NYC, the Barking Dog offers its canine guests water and treats outside in their sunny brunch spots, so you can eat your fill while your dog does the same.

Bark Park at Countryside League City, Texas: Open from 7:30 am 'til dusk, Tuesday through Sunday, Bark Park offers obstacle courses and wide open space for dogs to explore and adventure through to their heart's content.

Madison Square and Garden Café: Located right near Laguna Beach's beautiful waves, this cozy café will welcome your pooch as you enjoy a delicious breakfast and morning coffee! With casual, ambient outdoor seating, this is a summer-must for those nearby.

Shake Shack: While we may line up for Shake Shack's burgers, fries and shakes, the beloved fast food chain is perhaps better known for their dog-friendly seating and menu, featuring items such as the Pooch-ini!

New York Mets Dog Day: Support the New York Mets in conjunction with North Shore Animal League America and Animal Rescue Foundation by bringing along your cute companion to the game! You can purchase both human and dog tickets to enjoy a day at Citi Field surrounded by other adorable dogs, all whilst raising money for animal rescue and adoption agencies.

Forage in the Forest: A delicious and popular outdoor café in Carmel, CA, Forage in the Forest will welcome you and your pooch for an afternoon of coffee and tasty treats this summer!

FIDO in Prospect Park: Whilst there are strict on and off-leash hours in place, getting down to the recently renovated dog beach and paddle lakes in Prospect Park this summer is a great way to help your puppy cool off while you destress in the shade.
