"The jacket is very nice and lightweight. Highlights include the rubber sealed front chest pocket and interior pockets, which I love and appreciate. There are two negatives. First, the jacket fits at least a half size too big and is boxy, without a taper for more athletic built people. The second negative is that there is no elastic in the wrist cuff area on the sleeves. Because of the larger boxy cut, the sleeves feel too big. I’d size down if you normally wear size large but have an athletic build. Overall good value. Would give 4.5 stars if that was an option."
"I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this jacket. The fit and look were nearly perfect to what I was looking for and expecting; it is clean and sleek, and could really be worn in all settings (professionally, socially, or actively). The material caught me off guard and had ke actively think "this better be made from recycled material" due to the way it felt, and to my surprise it is! My only suggestion for improvement would be a drawstring or elastic for the wrist area which can feel a boxy and unnatural, but that is one small thing in an overall good product."

"Upon receiving the Free Country Paramount jacket for review, the first thing I noticed was how lightweight it is. It is the proper weight for a packable jacket that folds into its left pocket and can easily be stowed in a backpack and is similar in size when folded to some L. L. Bean packable down jackets. I received the orange color, and it is definitely bright enough to be used for hikes in hunting season. The package was sent to me in a simple mailer bag with the jacket folded in a clear inner bag, which is very typical. As for durability, it is not something that I would take off-trail where there could be sharp branches and bushes that could potentially tear the lightweight nylon fabric. However, this is true for most similar packable jackets. The fill is 80/20 down and is a good 3-season jacket, good for cooler weather, but I would not use it for temperatures below 40 degrees Fahrenheit without additional layering. The nylon material is both water- and wind-resistant, but the lack of a drawstring on the waist means that wind could still get in through the bottom of the jacket. There is also no way to tighten the sleeves either, so it might be long for someone with shorter arms. Also, there seem to be some loose threads on both the cuffs and near the zipper, so quality control could be improved. I did notice that the jacket does fit true to size with a little extra room, which is good for layering. The jacket does feature good zipper pulls and a weather-resistant top pocket. However, the two side hand-warming pockets could snag on the material, unlike the top rubberized zipper. There are two convenient inside pockets as well, which are large enough for sunglasses or a phone, but there is no Velcro or zipper to close those pockets. My favorite feature of this jacket is the double zipper with an extra piece of material that helps to block the elements while allowing ventilation. Overall, I think that this is a good attempt at a lightweight, packable jacket. However, some of the shortcomings, including the lack of drawstrings at the waist and cuffs, the lack of some Velcro closures, and some loose strings, prevent this from being the perfect packable jacket. Also, for the listed price of close to $170, it is priced too high. This jacket should cost around $90 max. I would give this jacket 3.5/5 stars."
