Import Specialist

Free Country, an active lifestyle apparel clothing brand specializing in outerwear, active wear and swim, is seeking a Import Specialist.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for processing ocean import shipments while coordinating with internal and external groups through communications

  • Handle and keep organized necessary import documents that flows internally and externally

  • Communicate with all parties involving including: customer service dept. ocean carriers, freight forwarder and not limited to other parties involved.

  • Coordinate bookings and appointments with third party logistics, truckers and warehouses.

  • Negotiate rates with ocean carriers and truckers

  • Assist with import product classification

  • Timely invoicing in company’s internal system (A2000) and responsible for coordinating with Finance dept. for payment

  • Responsible for scheduling and tracking containers from port of arrival to warehouse

  • Communicate any delays or issues to all parties regarding shipment status

  • Perform additional duties as required

     

    Qualifications:
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an import coordinator is required

    • Logistics and transportation experience preferred

    • General knowledge of Microsoft Office. Advance knowledge of Excel a must.

    • Able to work well independently and as part of a team

    • Highly developed planning and organization skills required

    • Keen attention to detail, strong problem solving and multi-tasking skills.

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
